Scholarships offered to graduating high school seniors and college undergraduate students accepted to or currently enrolled at accredited institutions of higher learning in degree programs in the fields of transportation logistics, supply-chain management, traffic management, transportation safety and/or related transportation industry operations and services

The Dave Lyman Memorial Scholarship provides approximately $2500 to every recipient, for each year they attend The California Maritime Academy (Cal Maritime), for a maximum of four years.

Open to MTS members who are undergraduates and graduate students enrolled full time in a marine-related field who have shown a commitment to community service and/or volunteer activities

Open to MTS members with an interest in marine instrumentation who are undergraduates and graduate students enrolled full time in an academic institution

THE J.H. “BUDDY” RASPBERRY SCHOLARSHIP – $3,000 – $15,000

The top five applicant scorers, including the Captain John T. Scardasis recipient, will receive a maximum award of $6,000.  The remaining twenty scholarship recipients will receive a maximum amount of $3,000. The maximum amount awarded for the financial hardship scholarship is $15,000. Scholarship awards may be applied to tuition, institutional fees, books, and supplies (if applicable). Funds may be paid directly to the scholarship recipients or to Educational Institutions on behalf of recipients.

TUG VALOUR MEMORIAL FUND

Provides scholarship grants to high school graduates seeking an education as merchant seaman. The annual Tug Valour memorial golf tournament will be held at Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club 12900 Lake Jovita Boulevard Dade City, Florida 33525.

The CIRCAC Scholarship Program

The CIRCAC/James Carter Memorial Scholarship is offered for Environmental Sciences, in honor of the late James Carter and in recognition of his dedicated service as Executive Director of the CIRCAC Board of Directors.

The CIRCAC/Captain Barry Eldridge Memorial Scholarship is offered for Maritime Studies. Until his death in October 2012, Capt. Richard “Barry” Eldridge was an integral part of the CIRCAC family. He served as a valued public member of the Prevention, Response, Operations and Safety (PROPS) committee for 17 years.

Open to women currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program in a transportation-related field, such as transportation engineering, planning, finance, or logistics

**The winner at the Colorado Chapter level will automatically be entered for consideration of the WTS International Scholarship award of an additional $5,000

PORT OF SAVANNAH PROPELLER CLUB SCHOLARSHIP
The Propeller Club provides annual scholarships to students in the Logistics and Intermodal Transportation program and to other college students studying to obtain a degree and seek a career in the Maritime Industry. Four Annual Scholarships of $1000.00 each are offered to deserving applicants who meet the qualifying criteria as described in the application form.

AMERICAN SOCIETY OF NAVAL ENGINEERS SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
A combination of undergraduate scholarships ($3,000 per year) and graduate scholarships ($4,000 per year) are awarded each academic year

Undergraduate candidates—Must be applying for support in their final year of an engineering program at an accredited undergraduate college or university.

Graduate candidates—May apply for support during one full year of a graduate program or co-op leading to an engineering or physical science degree at an accredited university.

THE CAPTAIN MICHAEL A. CLINKSCALES SCHOLARSHIP

The Captain Michael A. Clinkscales Maritime Scholarship will provide funds for students to complete coursework needed for careers in the maritime industry. Mike “Clink” Clinkscales was a former sea pilot who was known to encourage others to pursue careers in maritime trades.

Students enrolled in maritime courses at the University of Alaska Southeast can apply for the scholarship at alaska.academicworks.com.

Cook Inlet Regional Citizens Advisory Council (CIRCAC) Scholarship Program: 2021 Maritime Scholarship

CIRCAC launched its scholarship program to support area students who are pursuing courses of study that can advance our mission and promote future stewardship of Cook Inlet’s waters and shorelines.

Offered to an active duty or retired Sailor or Marine completing an accepted program for advanced diver training, certification, or license (includes reservists on active duty over 90 days)

Open to U.S. and international applicants who are members of SNAME, or another recognized marine society. Awards are made for one year of study leading to a Master’s Degree in naval architecture/marine engineering/ocean engineering

THE MERCHANTS EXCHANGE OF PORTLAND SCHOLARSHIP
The Merchants Exchange Scholarship is designed for students pursuing or advancing a career in Maritime and International Business/Trade programs at any accredited or U.S. Coast Guard-certified program. We support five students annually, on average, with scholarships of up to $2000 each.

 SUNY Maritime College Cultural Club 34th Black History Month Virtual Dinner 2021

JOIN the Organization of Black Maritime Graduates (OBMG) and SUNY Maritime Cultural Club on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at 6:30pm as the Cultural Club once again hosts the Black History Month “Dinner”. In these unprecedented times due to Covid-19, the “Dinner” will be virtual. 

The OBMG is awarding the Academic Achievement Scholarship Award in honor of Carl F. Burnett, ’50.They will also award scholarships in honor of William B. Gould, an enslaved man who escaped and became a sailor for the Union Navy during the Civil War.
