The American Maritime Partnership issued the following letter to Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Senator Maria Cantwell (D-WA), Chairman and Ranking Member of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation, in support of Steven Bradbury’s nomination as Deputy Secretary of Transportation on February 17. Read the full letter:
Dear Chairman Cruz and Ranking Member Cantwell:
The American Maritime Partnership (AMP) is the largest maritime industry legislative coalition ever, representing all elements of the U.S. domestic maritime industry including shipping companies, mariners, shipyards, pro-defense organizations, and others. AMP supports the nomination of Steven Bradbury as the Deputy Secretary of Transportation for the U.S. Department of Transportation and urges his confirmation for this important position.
When Mr. Bradbury served as the Chief Counsel for the Department of Transportation in the first Trump Administration, he was supportive of the domestic maritime industry and recognized the importance of the industry to the greater transportation supply chain. As Deputy Secretary, we expect that Mr. Bradbury will continue his support for this critical industry and will support policies that will ensure that we have a strong industrial base and mariner pool in the United States. Further, Mr. Bradbury is well qualified for this position, and AMP is pleased to support his confirmation.
Thank you for your interest in this matter. We look forward to working with you and your staff during the 119th Congress.
Sincerely,
Jennifer Carpenter, President
American Maritime Partnership
